This is a matcha made from tencha that has been carefully finished and ground in order to exhibit the new variety "Narino", which was born from the "Okunoyama" tea garden that has continued since the Muromachi period, at the National Tea Competition. (single origin)
The tea leaves are picked with a method called "shigoki picking", which is said to be more careful than hand-picking, paying close attention from the tea picking, and the final tencha produced is sorted with chopsticks and finished with only beautiful leaves. Because the selected tencha is ground with a stone mill, it is characterized by a richer, creamier flavor with less off-flavours and more condensed umami than regular Narino.

Uji matcha has traditionally been crafted by blending different teas, creating a bowl defined by harmony and balance. This matcha follows that tradition while allowing the character of a single cultivar to be expressed more directly.
