It is a single origin of the new variety "Okunoyama" born from the "Okunoyama" tea garden that has continued since the Muromachi period.
It is said to be a variety suitable for gyokuro, but it is also cultivated for tencha, as its deep green color produces an excellent color when ground into matcha. It is characterized by its clean, easy-to-drink flavor with no strong taste.

This matcha follows that tradition while allowing the character of a single cultivar to be expressed more directly. It reflects the soil, climate, cultivation, and the conditions of that particular year—revealing the natural qualities of the cultivar and the subtle expression of the season.
